Field Medic 01 - Houseguard Riflemen
Welcome to the first in a sporadic and ongoing series!
This is Field Medic: a series in which I'll take a look at minis I've stripped and repainted, with "before and after" photos. A basic process will be included, but I'm sure you can get the idea from the pictures. Have I been exposed to an unhealthy amount of HGTV? It's possible.

Blast from the Past: Repainting the Khador Starter Kit
We all started somewhere. My first Warmachine miniatures were from the Khador side of the 2 player starter kit, and they've seen plenty of action. Over the past 5 years, I've jumped between factions and set them aside. With MK III arriving, I decided to go back to my roots and take a fresh look at my old Khador army.
The changes to Man-O-War units were the final push to starting up this project, since I've always found the idea of steam-powered armor appealing. Rather than buy all new models, I stripped them down and repainted them to my current standard. More details and pictures after the jump!

Beast 09 extra pictures
This post is simply for a pair of pictures that were requested. The close-ups show different angles on the chest/waist connection for clarity. Not the best pictures, but they show what was needed.

Building a Better Beast 09
Did you build Beast 09 to run with your Khador army? Do you find it to be significantly shorter than the rest of your 'jacks? Does it look like it's holding that axe in an unnaturally awkward swing? In here I show you my simple conversion to build a better Beast!

Doomreavers
The Butcher's personal warjack, Ruin, is due out soon, and I've always had an interest in Orgoth artifacts and Khador's reckless use of them. I wanted to match the green/blue glow of Ruin's Orgoth trinkets on some Doomreavers that I've left unpainted for a long time.

The Process of Painting Imperatus
Retribution has a "game-changing" warjack! I finished him back in
July, and have been enjoying the carnage that he brings to the table
ever since.
Really pleased with this one, WIP after the jump!

Skrons MEGAPOST
I've been painting all these Skorne for my brother, and it's probably about time I upload some pictures. He wanted a darker look to them than the studio scheme, so I delivered.
Check out the mega album, including a beast or two, some units, and a few warlocks!

Kickstarter Elara and Hunter's Mark on a Stick
Just a pair of Retribution solos I'm happy with. Both of these ladies find themselves supporting my Garryth list, freeing up focus and extending threat ranges. First up is the Kickstarter Elara model.

An Acrobatic Assassin (Narn Conversion)
Narn, Mage Hunter of Ios, is a quick, deadly, agile assassin. I've been wanting to build this model for a while now, and finally got around to it. Quite of bit of sculpting was required to represent the Retribution's second most famous killer.
Random Acts of Retribution
I neglect this blog most of the time, and I haven't really uploaded pictures of my primary army, save for a few conversions. I love the look of Retribution, and the theme of desperate, brutal elves was unique enough to get my attention.
In this short album I'm showcasing a few of the myrmidons, and one of my favorite casters.

Retribution Arcanist: Now with 50% MORE goggles!
I resisted purchasing a second Arcanist for my Retribution army due to the sculpt being very static and distinct. I finally caved in with the advent of a Journeyman league, using a second as a single point filler. They're now almost always both included in every game I play, as the autonomy they offer Retribution myrmidons is borderline cheating.

SKRONS.
I talked my brother into starting up an army, and he picked Skorne. The stipulation was that I had to do all the painting for him. So far he's just got the battlebox, but it did teach me the joys of painting titans! Could there be a better subject for drybrushing!? He wanted a black armored force, and I used a deep red as an accent color. This scheme makes for a much darker army, and was interesting to figure out.
Then and Now
Reddit had the fun topic of posting your first miniature and your most recently completed. It's crazy to see how far we come with some practice.
My very first entry into wargaming and miniature painting was a 40k Tyranid Broodlord, back in 2006. These are the only two pictures I've got of him, and the lack of detail isn't just from the camera flash.

Convergence of Cyriss Tower of Power!
Or power node if you want to be boring...
This was a fun project, simply because it was a chance to go to the hardware store and cobble together the cheapest, most "impressive" looking parts I could find. It does it's job of taking up 120mm on the table, and makes for a nice centerpiece, especially when surrounded by other Convergence themed terrain.

More Convergence Terrain (Pond and Forest)
The Convergence release event is right around the corner, and the past league revolved around them. This gave me an opportunity to put my 40k design aesthetics to work, as an army of robots is a good excuse for some semi-futuristic elements. I like my terrain to tell a story, and these pieces reflect a region controlled by the Convergence of Cyriss. The lightning was a fun exercise in dynamic elements in a static terrain piece, and serves to tie them all together.
